Case summary

Resident of Armiansk, Crimea. On August 9, 2021, Dubovenko's home was searched, he was detained and taken for questioning. On the same day, the court placed him under house arrest on charges of "organising activities of an extremist organisation" due to his involvement with the Jehovah's Witnesses community. Representatives of this community are prosecuted under extremist articles solely for religious activities: meetings, joint worship services, attracting new supporters.

On September 8, 2022, the measure was changed to "restriction of certain actions". On December 1, Alexander was sentenced to 6 years in a 'general regime colony," taken into custody in the courtroom.
