According to the investigation, Kirill Efimov publicly desecrated symbols of Russia's military glory and insulted the memory of the defenders of the Fatherland online. The case materials indicate that on the night of 18 to 19 May 2022, an intoxicated Efimov deliberately urinated on the Eternal Flame in Victory Square, Kaluga. Upon learning that this act had been photographed by his companion, Efimov requested his friend to send him the photo, which he then used as his profile picture on VKontakte. The case was initially investigated under Part 3 of Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code, but his actions were later reclassified.

Full summary
Kirill Efimov, a student from Maloyaroslavets in the Kaluga Region, was detained on 20 May on charges of desecrating symbols of military glory and confessed to the offence. Subsequently, he recorded a video in which he apologised, stating that he could not recall the reasons for his actions, as he had been in a state of alcoholic intoxication at the time. On 18 August 2022, Efimov was sentenced to two years in a penal colony. It is presumed that he was released in August 2024.
