Case summary

Kirill Efimov, a student from Maloyaroslavets in the Kaluga Region, was detained on 20 May on charges of desecrating symbols of military glory and confessed to the offence. Subsequently, he recorded a video in which he apologised, stating that he could not recall the reasons for his actions, as he had been in a state of alcoholic intoxication at the time. On 18 August 2022, Efimov was sentenced to two years in a penal colony. It is presumed that he was released in August 2024.
