On 28 April 2010, a case of incitement to social hatred committed with the use of mass media and official position was brought against Efimov in connection with the publication of two articles by Rustam Fakhretdinov in a newspaper; on 30 May 2011, the case was closed; on 18 January 2012, he was charged again; on 4 February, he received notification that the case was again terminated
