Case summary

TV presenter cooperating with Novy Channel, head of the public organisation Masha Foundation. In 2018, she became an ambassador of the UN Population Fund in Ukraine. The case against Efrosinina was initiated on 7 April 2022 under the 1st part of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code in connection with publications in Instagram. On 1 July, she was put on a wanted list. In March 2023, the charge was reclassified to dissemination of knowingly false information with a hate motive (point "e" part 2 of article 207.3 of the Criminal Code). On 17 May Efrosinina was arrested in absentia. On 15 September 2023, she was sentenced in absentia to seven years.
