Case summary

On 26 January 2021, detained and taken into custody on charges of using violence against a representative of the authorities at a rally in support of Alexei Navalny on 23 January. Initially, it was reported that Esenov was charged with the use of violence not threatening life or health, but later it became known that it was the use of violence endangering life and well-being against a representative of authority.

On 20 May, he was sentenced to four years in a general regime colony.
