Case summary
He lived in St. Petersburg, worked as a carpenter and fitter. No later than 1 January 2014, he was put under surveillance, his email correspondence was studied and phone conversations were tapped. On 24 May 2017, Fataliyev was detained and then taken into custody on charges of organising the activities of an extremist organisation. On 23 April 2019, the court sentenced him to seven years in a general regime penal colony. Presumably, he was released in January 2023.
