Case summary

On 1 July 2019, a criminal case was opened for organising the activities of an extremist organisation. On 15 August, Filippov was searched, and the investigator who came said that a census was being conducted. Another search took place on 22 January 2020.

The first operational-search measures against Filippov took place on 18 August 2017 — this was an unclassified video recording of a worship service and an audio recording of a conversation about the Bible. On 19 July 2018, Filippov's home was searched, he was punched in the face, his hands were twisted behind his back, and on the same day there was a multi-hour interrogation.

On 15 March 2021, he was sentenced to six years' suspended sentence.
