Case summary

A resident of Sevastopol. In May and June 2025, she was fined three times under administrative cases of discrediting the army (Article 20.3.3 of the Administrative Code) and incitement to hatred (Article 20.3.1 of the Administrative Code) because of her comments about the war in Ukraine. On 7 July 2025, she was taken into custody in the case of spreading deliberately false information about the Russian Armed Forces. The Interior Ministry claimed that she had published comments with inaccurate information about the actions of the Russian military in Ukraine, discredited the Russian president and incited hatred on racial and national grounds. On 11 November 2025, Fomenko was sentenced to five years, six months and 15 days in a general regime colony.
