According to the investigation, "in the period from September 2023 to April 2024", the defendant "being assigned a role in the extremist community, carried out his criminal activities by filming videos and photos and their subsequent posting by unidentified persons on the Internet, including on the YouTube video hosting channel Navalny LIVE, on the channel Navalny's Team in the social network Telegram (Telegram)". In addition, "in the period from 27 September 2023 to 17 January 2024", "he interviewed people using video recording, asking provocative questions in public places in Moscow and the Moscow region with the aim of discrediting the current government". He received "money and cryptocurrency from unidentified participants of the extremist community and other persons involved in the activities of the ACF" for fulfilling the instructions of Ivan Zhdanov, Nina Volokhonskaya "and other unidentified leaders and participants of the extremist community, in the framework of the implementation of the above joint extremist activity, as well as for the expenses incurred to support it".

Producer of the Reuters news agency. On 27 April 2024, he was taken into custody on charges of involvement in the activities of the Navalny LIVE YouTube channel. In October 2024, Gabov reported that when he was transferred to another pre-trial detention centre, he was placed in an overcrowded cell with bedbugs. Later it became known that he was transferred to a cell with better conditions. On 15 April 2025, Gabov was sentenced to five and a half years in a general regime colony.
