According to the investigation team, he published a video on his page in one of the social media that contains signs of incitement to hostility against law enforcement officers. In addition, he came to defend his garage with an axe and a pneumatic gun and said that he would send those who broke into the garage to the morgue.

Full summary
Resident of Pereslavl-Zalessky. On 7 February 2023 it became known that Garanin was charged with incitement to hatred and threatening to kill. The court sent Garanin to custody.
A source in the security services told Kommersant that Garanin is a supporter of the USSR organisation. In February 2022, Alexei was sentenced to 50 hours of compulsory labour under the administrative article on incitement to hatred or hostility (Article 20.3.1 of the Code of Administrative Offences).
On November 15, 2024, the judge hearing Garanin's case was recused because, according to the court's website, "there are circumstances giving reason to believe" that he is "personally, directly or indirectly interested in the outcome" of the case. Garanin's preventive measure was changed to a ban on certain actions.
