Case summary
Driver from Kazan. In March 2022, searches were conducted in the homes of believers in Kazan, including Gerasimov's, who was also interrogated. In September 2022, he was brought as a defendant in a case of organising the activities of an extremist organisation due to his involvement with the Jehovah's Witnesses community. Representatives of this community are prosecuted under extremist articles solely for religious activities: meetings, joint worship services, attracting new supporters.
On 7 December 2023, Gerasimov was sentenced to six years in a general regime colony.
