He carried out activities of the organisation’s cell in the territory of the Kabardino-Balkar Republic, and also organised and directly participated in holding classes aimed at studying and spreading the ideology of the extremist organisation Jehovah’s Witnesses among the residents of the region. Through active actions, namely persuasion and appeals for religious unity, he “gradually transformed the world view” of other locals; held divine services and meetings on topics such as “Love that never passes away”, “Love overcomes everything”, “Walk in love”, “Unquenchable love of our global brotherhood”, while singing the songs “God is love”, “God’s example of love” and “Welcome one another warmly”.

Full summary
On 7 May 2020, a case was opened against Gushchin for organising activities of an extremist organisation. On 26 April 2021, a case was also reported to have been opened against him for involvement in the activities of an extremist organisation. He signed a personal recognizance not to leave the country. On 2 May 2024, the court acquitted Gushchin.
