Case summary
Historian and archaeologist from Elista. At least until May 2021, he was the head of the records section of the N.N. Palmov National Museum of the Republic of Kalmykia. N.N. Palmov.
In 2025, a case was brought against him for disseminating disrespectful information about the days of military glory because of the 2016 post and storing explosive devices from the Great Patriotic War at his home (we do not consider the second charge to be political). He was remanded in custody after his arrest. On 24 March 2026, Khartskhaev was sentenced to three and a half years in a general regime colony.
