Case summary

A taxi driver from Moscow, originally from Tajikistan. In December 2025, he was prosecuted for incitement to hatred because of his stories criticising the Russian authorities and the media. Khodzhimurodov recorded these stories after a teenager from Odintsovo attacked his school, in which he killed a student whose family came from Tajikistan on the grounds of ethnic hatred. In his stories, the taxi driver criticised the authorities because of xenophobic policies and the media because of xenophobic rhetoric against migrants.

Khodzhimurodov was detained after his statements were brought to the attention of a major right-wing telegram channel Multinational. On 19 December, he was taken into custody.
