The reason for the initiation of the case was a post in which Ivanova accused the Russian military of crimes in Bucha and called on them to lay down their arms and refuse to serve: "From the very beginning of the war in Ukraine, when videos began to appear with Russian prisoners of war, saying as one that they didn't know where they were going and that they were on a training exercise and were not going to fight, I wondered: 'Why do these people continue to kill if they didn't want to? Why don't they lay down their arms? Why don't they give up?" I heard some excuses that if they did, they would be court-martialled. And you know, looking at these videos, where frightened teenagers (I hope it's no secret that there are a lot of conscripts there) explain themselves almost crying, you even start to feel somewhat sorry for them. After all, they are kind of obliged to fulfil the order of a higher authority, because it is not their initiative. I felt sorry for them until these "soldiers" left Bucha and the whole world saw their "exploits" in all their glory! Hundreds of dead, 9 out of 10 of whom were shot, not killed by shrapnel wounds and other injuries. Just think about it! People tied up by the arms and shot in the back of the head! Dozens of raped women! A city completely looted! Everything from washing machines to, I'm sorry, women's lingerie!!! These are the Russians in all their glory! What's the excuse this time? Did someone higher up order them to rob, rape and then kill? No. This is the initiative of those "unfortunate" crying conscripts! Recently news has started to appear that more and more military men are refusing to go to war in Ukraine. Of course, this is a drop in the ocean, but I want to believe that looking at such people who are not afraid to disobey orders, other military men who have a shred of conscience and honour will also lay down their arms and put an end to this senseless war!"
