Case summary
A resident of Yekaterinburg and a lawyer. On 16 December 2025, he was searched in a case of organising the activities of an "undesirable organisation". The reason for the case was the appeal of the "Volunteer Company of the Combat Brotherhood" that Kachanov and two other lawyers cooperate with the Norwegian Helsinki Committee and the National Endowment for Democracy. The day after his arrest, Kachanov was taken into custody. On 12 February 2026, the court transferred him to house arrest.
