Case summary
The architect, who lived in Sochi. He spoke out against violations in the construction of facilities before the Olympics. On September 29, 2020, a search was conducted at Kalyamin's house in connection with a case of incitement to extremism. On November 24, he was detained. According to him, he was threatened with detention and forced to sign a confession without reading it. After that, Kalyamin was released on his own recognizance. Later, in March 2021, Kalyamin reported that he was charged in a case involving statements that were different from those previously discussed. He was accused of making remarks against Russians. On June 30, 2021, Kalyamin was sentenced to two years of probation. On August 12, he died. On October 27, a court of appeal upheld the sentence. On November 8, 2023, Kalyamin was removed from the Rosfinmonitoring list of extremists.
