Case summary

In 2009, Kilin posted the video "Russia 88 (Babulka)" and the song "Glory of Russia" by the "Kolovrat" band on his page on the social network VKontakte. On 29 April 2011, the court sentenced Kilin to one year and six months suspended sentence. On 16 August 2011, as a result of an appeal filed by the defence, a second court session of the Leninsky District Court of Kemerovo was held, during which Kilin was also found guilty under part 1 of article 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the punishment was not changed.

On November 1, 2011, in the course of consideration of cassation appeals of the defence, the judicial board for criminal cases of the Kemerovo Regional Court decided: leave the appeal verdict of the Leninsky District Court of Kemerovo unchanged, the cassation appeals of the defence without satisfaction On 1 November 2011 the verdict of the Leninsky District Court of Kemerovo entered into legal force
