Case summary
On 9 June 2022, the FSB reported the detention in Rostov-on-Don of 13 Central Asian nationals suspected of involvement in Hizb ut-Tahrir.
One of them was Ashurov — the Leninsky District Court of Rostov placed him in custody. Ashurov stated that he did not admit guilt.
Later, it became known that Ashurov is accused of preparing to participate in the activities of a terrorist organisation and calls for extremism and terrorism.
On 18 April 2024, Ashurov was sentenced to seven years in a strict regime colony.
