Case summary

In December 2015, he was arrested on charges of organising the activities of the banned organisation "Nurdzhular", searches were carried out, a psychological and linguistic examination of statements was conducted, which revealed signs of incitement to ethnic and religious hatred. On 19 June 2017, he was sentenced to three years and nine months in prison.

On 29 January 2019, the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the Sverdlovsk region invalidated the decision to grant Kim Russian citizenship.

On 10 April, Kim was released from prison. The day before, his passport was confiscated, and immediately after leaving the colony, a report on violation of the rules of stay was drawn up on him, after which the court decided to fine him and expel him from the country. Kim was placed in the Centre for Temporary Detention of Foreign Citizens in Khabarovsk Krai.
