Case summary

He is a history teacher by education, works as a translator and also teaches Italian to children. Before the pandemic, he travelled a lot.

Spent eight days in administrative detention after a rally in support of Alexei Navalny on 31 January 2021. On 8 February he was detained after leaving the special reception centre. Klimchuk was taken to the Investigative Committee for questioning in a criminal case of insulting a representative of the authorities, after which he was released on his own recognisance.

On 15 December he was sentenced to a fine of 20 thousand rubles.
