Case summary

A resident of Kirov, a drag artist, worked in Sberbank. On 17 January 2025, he was detained at the exit from the MFC (an office providing municipal services). He was taken for questioning as a witness in the case of participation in the activities of an extremist organization, namely the "International LGBT Movement", in connection with a performance at the Black Clover club. He gave the testimony required by the investigation under dictation. During subsequent interrogations Kniagin retracted his first testimony. On 31 July 2025, a case was opened against him for participation in the activities of the "International LGBT Movement", and he signed recognizance not to abscond . He had to resign from Sberbank. In January 2026, Kniagin left Russia.
