Case summary

A video blogger and former trash streamer, he hosted the YouTube channel "Kupala TV." He was charged with preparing or attempting to participate in an illegal armed group: according to investigators, he planned to join the "Freedom of Russia" legion. Andrei Trofimov, who is being prosecuted under the same article, said that after the war began, Kolin, whom he met in pretrial detention, reported "real news" in his videos and expressed support for Ukraine, where he lived for some time. Kolin was detained in April in the village of Pogoreloye Gorodishche. According to Trofimov, the case is completely fabricated, and the case file includes correspondence with the provocateur on Telegram and false witnesses. Furthermore, Trofimov's account suggests that after his detention, Kolin was transported in the trunk of a car. On March 16, 2023, the court declared Kolin insane and sentenced him to compulsory treatment in a psychiatric hospital.
