Case summary
A resident of Kemerovo, a bricklayer. In 2020, he was fined 10,000 roubles in an administrative case for publishing a xenophobic video on VKontakte against natives of the Caucasus and Central Asia. In May 2022, Basyrov was interviewed as part of a check-up. On 11 August 2022, he was taken into custody on charges of preparing to participate in an illegal armed formation - meaning the Freedom of Russia Legion. On 12 December 2022, Basyrov was sentenced to three and a half years in a strict regime colony. After that, a new case was brought against him - on calls to terrorism, promotion of terrorist activity and participation in the activities of a terrorist organisation. On 6 August 2025, Basyrov was sentenced in this case, the details are unknown.
