Case summary
He is a former journalist of Radio Liberty and the author of the YouTube news channel Newsader. On 23 September 2022, he was declared a “foreign agent”. On 7 March 2024, Kushnar was reported to have been put on the wanted list. A case was initiated against him for evasion of the duties of a “foreign agent” and dissemination of knowingly false information about the Russian Armed Forces. On 11 June 2025, Kushnar was sentenced in absentia to eight years and one month of imprisonment.
