According to the investigation, in August 2024, armed with combat weapons and explosive devices, he crossed the state border of the Russian Federation illegally as part of Ukrainian armed formations, with the intent to commit a terrorist act. While in the Korenevskii and Sudzhanskii districts of Kursk Oblast, he threatened the local population with weapons, unlawfully occupied private homes, obstructed the evacuation of civilians, and repeatedly opened fire with intent to kill against Russian servicemen and civilians.

Full summary
An Ukrainian serviceman. On 10 August 2024, he was taken prisoner in the Kursk region. In the same month, a video was published in which Labunskii claims that his superiors had ordered him to shoot civilians in Kursk Region if they resisted. Criminal proceedings were initiated against him on charges of committing a terrorist act. The authorities classified as terrorism the alleged threats made with weapons against civilians, the unlawful occupation of private homes, obstruction of evacuation efforts, and repeatedly opening fire with intent to kill against Russian servicemen and civilians. On 14 March 2025, Labunskii was sentenced to 16 years in a strict regime colony.
