On 10 June 2015, a case of insulting religious feelings in connection with the publication of an article on the icon of Christ "Evil Christ" on the Internet was brought against the writer and former teacher of the Orenburg State Medical University Sergey Lazarov; on 24 February 2015, Lazarov was found guilty, the court imposed a fine of 35,000 rubles and released him from punishment due to the expiration of the statute of limitations for criminal liability; on 26 April, the court of second instance upheld the sentence
