Case summary

A Ukrainian serviceman. According to the "War Tears" project, after being captured in the summer of 2022 he was held at a former penal colony in Olenivka, in Russian-occupied Donetsk Oblast, and was injured in an explosion that killed at least 53 Ukrainian prisoners of war. Afterwards, he was reportedly held in a specially created POW camp on the grounds of a penal colony in Udarny, a region in central Russia. Former detainees of the camp later told journalists that Ukrainians there were subjected to systematic and severe torture. A criminal case was opened against Lytvyn on charges of participation in a terrorist organisation, allegedly in connection with involvement in the "Donbass" Battalion. On 4 February 2026, he was sentenced; further details are unknown.
