Case summary

Ukrainian serviceman. According to the War Tears project, after being captured in the summer of 2022, he was held in a former penal colony in Elenovka in the occupied territory of the Donetsk region of Ukraine and was wounded in an explosion that killed at least 53 captured Ukrainians. After that, he was allegedly held in a specially created camp for prisoners of war on the territory of the colony in the village of Udarny in Mordovia. Former prisoners of this camp after their release told journalists about the brutal systematic torture to which the Ukrainians were subjected. A case of participation in the activities of a terrorist community in connection with involvement in the activities of the Azov Battalion was opened against Liutyi. On 5 February 2026, he was sentenced, the details are unknown.
