According to the investigation, from 2017 to March 2021, he "conducted propaganda in the region to induce people to join At-Taqfir wal-Hijra". To do this, according to the prosecution, he held meetings where he study "the basics of extremist ideology" and spoke about its "superiority over other religions". Either Magomedov or another defendant, Rustam Arov, was also charged with illegal possession of weapons because of a gun found during the search.
