Case summary
Nikolay was detained on 21 February 2020 in Horodok, Vitebsk region and he was taken into custody on 24 February. Makhalichev was informed that he was on the international wanted list in the Russian Federation in the case of activities of an extremist organisation. On 8 April he was released from the pre-trial detention centre, announcing that he would not be extradited to Russia.
