Case summary
Resident of Murmansk region, served in the Northern Fleet of the Russian Navy. Member of the Russian Church of Christians of Evangelical Pentecostal Faith (RCECF). In July 2023, he refused to go to war in Ukraine for religious reasons. A case was opened against him for refusing to participate in hostilities. On 28 September 2023, Makushin was sentenced to two years and eight months in a penal colony.
