Case summary
A resident of the Shakhty city (Rostov region). A case was brought against her for spreading "fakes" about the Armed Forces and calls to extremism. In January 2023, it became known that Maiboroda was fined 40,000 roubles under the administrative article on discrediting the army (part 1 of article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offences). Court records indicate the trigger was publications criticising the war on her personal VKontakte page.
In the criminal case, Maiboroda was subjected to a restriction of certain actions as a pre-trial measure. On 29 January 2024, she was sentenced to five and a half years in a general-regime penal colony.
