In early May 2019, law enforcement officers came to Mikhalchuk's flat as part of a pre-investigation check on the materials of a criminal case on the activities of an undesirable organisation. Mikhalchuk was not in Russia at the time. On 24 May it became known that he was put on the federal wanted list.
