Case summary
Resident of Sevastopol, guitar teacher. Minasov was prosecuted for six episodes of incitement to hatred and hostility for the posts that he disseminated on social networks between March and October 2016, including in the group "Krim - Ukraine" in "VKontakte". It is not reliably known about which publications we are talking about. Perhaps the reason for the prosecution was the statement about the infringement of the Crimean Tatar people and quotes of the creator of the Crimean Tatar volunteer battalion and organiser of the blockade of Crimea Lenur Islyamov in Minasov's Facebook.
On 7 July 2017, he was sentenced to a year and three months of imprisonment in a penal colony.
On 27 February 2018, Minasov was sentenced to seven and a half years in a strict regime colony on charges of causing death by negligence. We have no grounds to consider this case political. On 17 April 2018, the appeal court increased the sentence by three months. On 25 June 2024, Minasov was released from prison.
