According to the prosecution, being dissatisfied with the actions of the authorities regarding the war, he decided to set fire to a relay cabinet belonging to JSC Russian Railways and responsible for the operation of traffic lights and autoblocking devices located in Krasnodar. For this purpose, he purchased an igniter, which he hid in advance near the place where the arson was committed. On 25 April 2023, Mungalov arrived at the railway transport infrastructure facility and, placing a cardboard box with a rag cloth in the relay cabinet, poured ignition fluid into it. He set the box on fire with a lighter and then fled the scene of the offence. As a result of Mungalov's criminal actions, the relay cabinet was completely destroyed.
