According to the investigation, on 9 March he published on Instagram and on 19 March on his YouTube channel "deliberately false information about the deliberate shelling by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation of a maternity hospital in the city of Mariupol", accompanying them with "inaccurate photos of civilian victims of the shelling" with reference to the Ukrainian media.

Full summary
Journalist, YouTube-blog host, populariser of science. Deputy of several convocations of the State Duma. Since 2006, he has been an advisor to Konstantin Ernst, CEO of Channel One. In 2012, he was included on the list of Vladimir Putin’s trusted representatives. Later he began to lean towards more and more oppositional views. A case was brought against Nevzorov for "fakes" about the Armed Forces while he was abroad. He was put on a wanted list and arrested in absentia. As an interim measure, the court seized his dacha near St. Petersburg. In addition, the Ministry of Justice included Nevzorov in the register of mass media - "foreign agents". Interpol refused to fulfil the Russian Federation's request for Nevzorov's extradition. On 1 February 2023, he was sentenced in absentia to eight years' imprisonment in a penal colony. In April 2024, a case was brought against Nevzorov for evading his duties as a "foreign agent". On 2 July 2024, an association alleged to include Nevzorov and his wife, Lidia, was designated extremist, and their property was confiscated. In December 2024, it became known that the house and land plot of Nevzorov's mother-in-law were handed over to the state. In May 2025, cases were brought against Nevzorov and his wife for financing extremist activities due to the collection of donations.
