Case summary
Back in November 2015, the Main Investigative Directorate of the Russian Investigative Committee in Moscow opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code (incitement of hatred or hostility) against media manager and blogger Anton Nosik. The grounds for this were the results of an inspection of his publication "Wipe Syria off the face of the Earth", as well as his speeches on the air of the radio station "Echo of Moscow". On 3 October 2016, he was sentenced to a fine of 500 thousand rubles, on 15 December the court of second instance reduced the fine to 300 thousand rubles.
