Case summary
A resident of the town of Bakal, a member of the postpunk band Room32, worked as a commander of the fire and rescue service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Prior to his arrest, he published anti-war poems. He was taken into custody on charges of arson of a military recruiting office. He was accused of committing a terrorist act and taking terrorist courses. On 10 April 2023, Nuriev was sentenced to 19 years in a strict regime penal colony.
