Case summary
On July 20, 2018, Olshevsky's home was searched. On October 21, 2019, it became known that Olshevsky was charged with participation in the activities of an extremist organisation in connection with his involvement in the Jehovah's Witnesses community. Representatives of this community are prosecuted under the articles of the Criminal Code concerned with extremism solely for religious activities: meetings, joint worship services, attracting new supporters. He signed a recognizance not to leave the country. The charge against him was later reclassified to organizing activities. On December 21, 2022 he was sentenced to six years and three months in a general regime colony.
