According to the investigation, while in a public place — the Square of the Fallen Fighters on Kuznetskaya Street in the city of Pskov — he approached an element of the memorial structure known as the Eternal Flame, a symbol of Russia’s military glory. Using an open flame, he set fire to braids of copper and silver-coloured wires with the intention of selling them afterwards.
