Case summary

Periz Peikrishviki is a resident of Komsomolsk-on-Amur, a driver. He considers himself a citizen of the USSR. A case was initiated against him for discrediting the use of the Russian Armed Forces. On 13 December 2023, Peikrishvili was given 1 year of suspended sentence. In May 2024, a new case was brought to court — once again concerning the discrediting of the Russian Armed Forces, as well as the spread of "fakes" about them. On 10 September 2024, Peikrishvili was taken into custody. On 12 December 2024, he was sentenced to six years in a general regime penal colony. Taking into account his previous sentence, the total sentence amounted to six and a half years. On 27 February 2025, the court of appeal cancelled the part of the verdict that combined the two terms, since the publications that led to the second case had been published before the verdict in the first case.
