Case summary

On 20 October 2019, he was detained after law enforcement officers stormed a tourist base where followers of Jehovah's Witnesses teachings had gathered. According to Polozov's wife, it was him they were looking for. Polozov was taken for questioning, after which he was released on his own recognisance. Polozov's home was searched. On 23 October he was declared a suspect, on 24 October he was detained, and on 26 October the court sent him to custody. In January 2020, the measure of restraint was changed to a recognisance not to leave. On 18 April 2022, the court returned the case to the prosecutor's office.
