Case summary

The head of the Derzhava party, which advocates for "Russian socialism". He was charged with disseminating deliberately false information about the Armed Forces with a hate motive and for discrediting the Armed Forces (part 1 of article 280.3 of the Criminal Code). On 8 February 2024, Prikazchikov was sentenced in the criminal case to a fine of 250,000 rubles, while the charge was reclassified from the 2nd part of the article on "fakes" to the 1st part. However, on 16 April 2024, the court of appeal reclassified the charge back from 1st part to 2nd part of the article and altered the sentence, sentencing Prikazchikov to three years of compulsory labour and a fine of 100,000 roubles.
