Case summary

On 17 May 2011, a search was conducted in Romanov's flat as part of a criminal case opened in connection with the publication on the website mkedo.ru of the video "Fascists in shoulder straps", which filmed the scene of Romanov's detention. The prosecutor demanded to interrogate Romanov's six-year-old daughter. Investigators visited the kindergarden and place of work. In July 2014, it became known that a new case had been opened against Romanov in connection with the publication of a text in social networks that only Maidan could defeat Putin. Romanov and his family left Russia. In October 2014, after Romanov's departure, there was information about his detention in Magnitogorsk.

On 8 September 2021, a case was opened against Romanov for participation in the activities of an extremist community.
