Case summary
St. Petersburg activist and human rights defender. Detained on 10 May 2022, placed in custody the next day. On 28 July, the measure of restriction was changed to a prohibition on certain actions. After Romanov failed to appear at court hearings three times, he was put on a wanted list. On 28 February 2024, Romanov was sentenced in absentia to six years' imprisonment.
