Case summary
A resident of Yekaterinburg, cameraman of the YouTube channel "Beautiful Russia". On 2 May 2024, it became known that he was summoned for questioning in a case of libel and dissemination of information constituting a family secret. Russkikh became a defendant in the case, but the charge under the article on dissemination of information constituting a family secret was dropped due to insufficient evidence.
At the beginning of the trial, the question of allowing the accelerated proceedings was considered, but Russkikh refused his earlier testimony, saying that he gave it under pressure. As a result, his case was considered under the general procedure.
On the night of 8 January 2026, after a business meeting, Russkikh and another Beautiful Russia journalist, Evgenii Anisimov, were attacked and severely beaten by eight unidentified men. Russkikh was diagnosed with three broken ribs and a broken nose, as well as a concussion.
