According to the investigation, on 9 September 2022, Rybovalov climbed the Eternal Flame memorial in Feodosia, drank alcoholic beverages and set fire to the flowers placed at the memorial, imitating cooking. By these actions, Rybovalov, according to law enforcers and the court, "desecrated the symbol of Russia's military glory" and "insulted the memory of the defenders who fell in the battles for Feodosia during the Civil War and the Great Patriotic War".
