Case summary

Sadomovskii is a former deputy chairman of the Yabloko branch in Nizhny Novgorod region, and an ex-head of Ilya Varlamov and Maxim Katz's Urban Projects Foundation in Nizhny Novgorod. After the outbreak of war in Ukraine, Sadomovskii left Russia for Kazakhstan, where he worked on opening shelters for Russians who had fled mobilization.

In August 2025, it became known that he was prosecuted for spreading "fakes" about the Russian army because of two posts published in April 2022. In these posts he criticised the invasion of Ukraine and wrote about civilian deaths in the Ukrainian cities of Irpen, Gostomel, Mariupol and Bucha. On 27 January 2026, Sadomovskii was sentenced in absentia to eight years.
