Case summary
On 30 November 2020, Salikova's home was searched. On 26 August 2021, she was charged with the case of organising activities of an extremist organisation and signed a personal recognizance. On 20 January 2022, she was sentenced to six years' suspended sentence. On 11 January 2023, the court of cassation instance overturned the verdict and returned the case to the court of appeal instance. On 23 March, the court of appeal reclassified the charge from organisation to participation in the activities of an extremist organisation and reduced the sentence to two and a half years.
